Famous
for it's literary connections, the area has been
inspired by the Bloomsbury
Group, a group of
writers, artists and intellectuals that lived in the
district
of Bloomsbury between the two world wars.
The group met to talk, write, and
enjoy
life -subscribing to G. E. Moore's philosophy that '
by far the most
valuable things are the pleasures of
human intercourse and the enjoyment of
beautiful objects'.
Other
literary attractions are the Sherlock Holmes
museum in Baker Street inspired
by the works of
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
the magnificent New British Library
on the Euston Road
and the University of London library,
housed in Senate
House which is also often used as a
location for film and T.V. crews.
